Know. Later.

Once a month I receive my bank statements.
(And I just became aware of why that’s ok).

As I sat with my morning coffee, I opened my bank statements.
As I did, I began to realize how “special” it feels to actually open theenvelope,
hold –feel the paper and look over the statement – in a quiet, relaxed state.

Online banking is wonderful I suppose but just the omnipresent availability
of it is a distraction.

Because online banking is always available I could (and often will) constantly be drawn to
“checking” it.

This is  sold to us as Know. NOW.
And it is addictive as cocaine.

Opening my bank statement at a relaxed (and focused time) ONCE A MONTH
I can see every detail I would see over the course of the same month with instant
online access – yet there is something about seeing on paper, in one sitting.

Always on technology is repregramming our brains.
And to what benefit?

KNOW NOW?
NO. LATER.
