The value of learning a craft

The craft of “Storytelling”
(with music)

I learned (and mastered) a difficult craft of mixing (dance) music back in the late 80’s- Early 90’s  (As in for clubs).
At that time – this was a rare and valuable skill.
Taking two different records and beat for beat matching /mixing them, at the proper time, with tracks that had similar cords and vibes to create one long “story”.
I learned / played  at home, built my sound and style – much later, ended up playing in several larger clubs.

Because it was difficult-and had a lot of inherent resistance until success, I enjoyed it.

This carft was called DJing.
I passed out curated, (rare for the era)”Mix” casettes.
After a 20 year hiatus I decided to re-enter the “DJ” world.
My, my – things have changed!
Today the record is an MP3 and the digital turntable
equipment has a SYNC button to match beats. Perfectly.
Now, everyone is a “DJ”.
And there are literally millions of published mixes on hundreds of websites.
Heres my DJ home.
Recently, I was behind these modern decks, with a youger ” modern DJ”  looking on.
“Wow ,  you can mix (beat match) by ear“?,
No SYNC button or digital assistance?!”

Writing.

Im far from an excellent writer.
But my slow approach, to writing….post by slow post
may just mimick my DJ journey?

Maybe in the future, some hip and temporarly popular (and distracted) social media “creator” will stand in awe of my writing?
“So-like-you actually wrote actual articles with out AI ?
You got reads with no Social media accts?”

Welcome to the R3volution.
(You are NOT alone)!
